Despite the weather, the Diocesan cricket trials scheduled for today, Monday 11th November, are going ahead as planned at Jim Roder Oval in Lismore. It is advised that children bring a spare change of clothes and parents bring a shelter.
Polding Cricket selection trials were held at Jim Roder Oval in Lismore on Friday, 20 September 2024. Congratulations to Gus Collings (St Carthage's Primary School, Lismore), Josh Harris (St Peter's Primary School, Port Macquarie) and Daniel Martin (St Augustine's Primary School, Coffs Harbour) who were selected for the Polding boys cricket team and Mia Gilbert (Mt St John's Primary School, Dorrigo) who was selected for the Polding girls cricket team to attend the NSWPSSA State Championships.
A huge thank you to Paddy Wilde for his organisational work beforehand and the professional manner in which he conducted the Polding Boy's Cricket Trial. Thanks also to Matt Paton, Kane Radford, Sam Judd, Andrew Maslen, Pam Burke, Steve Pryde, Liz Reakes, Jason Leadbitter, Greg Cant, Michael Pobjie and Grahame Statham for their tireless efforts in testing conditions. Every student at the trial had an equal opportunity to display their skills to the selection panel. The wealth of cricket knowledge within the group is amazing.
The selection process was exhaustive, collaborative and fair. The manner in which all staff members communicated with players and parents was very impressive.
Such a successful day has many moving parts, fortunately the weather, although hot, co-operated.
Polding softball selection trials were held at Blacktown International Sports Park in Sydney on Thursday, 20 June. Congratulations to Edward Shields from St Mary's Primary School, Casino and Gus Collings, Jack McCarthy and Billy McCarthy from St Carthage's, Lismore, who were selected for the Polding boys softball team to attend the NSWPSSA State Championships in August at Penrith. Lismore had no girls attend softball trials this year.
Polding basketball and tennis selection trials were held in Coffs Harbour (basketball) and tennis (Sawtell) on Friday, 9th February. Students from Armidale Diocese, Maitland/Newcastle Diocese, Bathurst Diocese, Broken Bay Diocese, Wilcannia/Forbes Diocese and Lismore Diocese attended these trials.

The Lismore students, both girls and boys, all played very well at tennis selections at Sawtell with all three Lismore boys, Gali Amit (St Francis Xavier), Jesse Clack (St Mary's Bellingen) & Riley O'Brien (St Augustine's Coffs Harbour) in the Polding boy's team to attend the NSWPSSA State tennis championships later this year. Addison Peppernell (St Mary's, Grafton) was named reserve in the girl's tennis team.

The Lismore students, both girls and boys, all played very well at tennis selections with two Lismore boys, Ben Spotswood (Pottsville) and Flynn Pociask (Port Macquarie), in the boy's team to attend NSWPSSA State tennis championships later this year.
At the cricket trials, once again Lismore students displayed their skills and talents, with Mia Gilbert (Dorrigo) selected for the girl's Polding team and Reid Simes (South Lismore) selected for the boy's team.
Lismore Diocesan Summer Sports Trials in tennis, 22 November 2022, and basketball, cricket and touch football, 25 November 2022, were held in Lismore. Students selected at Lismore Diocesan trials in tennis, cricket and basketball will attend Polding selection trials in Lismore on Friday, 10 February 2023. Polding selection trials in touch football will be held in Parkes on Tuesday, 4 April 2023.

Polding cricket (girls and boys) selection trials were held at Tamworth on Friday, 26 August 2022. Congratulations to Abbie Hudson from St Joseph's, Laurieton and Cooper Williams from O.L.H.o.C, Sth Lismore, who were selected in the Polding cricket teams to attend the NSWPSSA State Championships (girls at Barooga from the 24 to 27 October and boys at Dubbo from the 11 to 14 October) later in the year.

Polding softball selection trials were held at Stars Cricket Academy, King Rd Hornsby (indoor facility) in Sydney on a wet and cold Thursday, 21 June. Congratulations to Alice Shields from St Mary's Primary School, Casino, who was selected for the Polding girl's softball team to attend the NSWPSSA State Championships in September at Camden.
