The 2024 Lismore Diocesan Primary Athletics Carnival was held at Coffs Harbour on Tuesday, 20 August. Students from Tweed, Richmond, Clarence and Hastings Zones attended this event. Students who were successful in the Lismore carnival will attend the Polding athletics carnival on Friday, 13 September, at Hunter Sport Centre, Glendale. Congratulations to all students who competed both in track and field events.
The Paddy Dent Shield was won this year by Tweed Zone.
The 2023 Polding Athletics Championships were held at Homebush, Sydney, on Friday 13 October. Lismore Diocese had 110 students compete in these championships in both track and field events. Congratulations to all Lismore Diocesan students who competed well throughout the carnival. Congratulations to our many students who made the Polding Athletics team to compete at the NSWPSSA State Athletics Championships at Homebush on the 25 & 26 October. One special performance amongst many from Lismore students was that of Willow Millar from St Joseph's Primary School, Tweed Heads, who broke the junior (8-10 years) girls' High Jump record with a jump of 1.34 metres.
This year Lismore Diocese had 4 students compete in Multiclass events. All performed very well and picked up medals in both track and field events.
I wish all students who have made the Polding Athletics team all the best at the NSWPSSA athletics carnival on 25/26th October at Homebush in Sydney.

The Polding 2022 Polding Athletics Championships were held at Glendale, Newcastle, on Friday, 9 September. Lismore Diocese had 132 students compete in these championships in both track and field events. Congratulations to all Lismore Diocesan students who competed well throughout the carnival. Congratulations to our many students who made the Polding Athletics team to compete at the NSWPSSA State Athletics Championships at Homebush on the 19 & 20 October. Two special performances amongst many from Lismore students were that of Alexandrea Dogan from St Francis Xavier Primary School, Ballina, who broke the girls' 11 years 1500 metre record of 5:23:13 with a time of 5:12:12, and Amariah Shah, from St Carthage’s Primary School, Lismore, who broke the girls 1500 metre record of 5:08:15 with a time of 5:04:83.
Special mention to Eden Usher from St Anthony’s Primary School, Kingscliff, who competed in the junior girls’ multiclass and picked up two silver medals.
