Winter Sports Trials include: Football (soccer), Hockey, Netball & Rugby League

LISMORE DIOCESAN WINTER SPORTS TRIALS – 10TH MARCH 2023 GRAFTON /MACLEAN

A very successful Lismore Diocesan  Primary Winter trials were held on the 10th of March in Grafton (rugby union, rugby league, football (soccer) and hockey). Netball was held at Maclean. Despite heavy rain during the day, all trials were completed.

Thank you to the Diocesan conveners, selectors, zone-team managers, first-aid officers, development officers and Grafton council as well as local sports bodies for combining to make this year’s trials very successful. 

The students displayed exceptional skills and determination which made the selection process difficult. There were very good student numbers at all sports trials once again this year.   

Lismore Diocesan teams will attend Polding selection trials at Tamworth on Friday 28th April.

POLDING WINTER SPORTS TRIALS – 29TH APRIL 2022 BATHURST

Polding Winter Sports Trials (netball, rugby league, hockey and football/ soccer) were held at Bathurst on Friday 23rd of April. Lismore team managers were very happy with the attitude and behaviour of the Lismore students as well as the skills and talent of the students.

 All students performed well with many making the Possibles and Probables stage of the selection trials in all sports.

Thank you to all parents who travelled to Bathurst to take their child/ren to the trials.

LISMORE DIOCESAN WINTER SPORTS TRIALS – 18TH/23RD  MARCH 2022 GRAFTON 

A very successful Lismore Diocesan  Primary Winter trials in rugby league (opens & 11yrs), netball and hockey in Grafton were held on the 18th of March. Football ( soccer) trials were held on synthetic hockey fields at Grafton( 23rd March) due to ground closures from continual wet weather.

Thank you to the Diocesan conveners, selectors, zone-team managers, first-aid officers, development officers and Grafton council as well as local sports bodies for combining to make this year’s trials very successful. This was the fifth attempt to hold our winter sports trials due to consistent wet weather, flooding and ground closures. 

The students displayed exceptional skills and determination which made the selection process difficult. There were very good student numbers at all sports trials especially in hockey again this year.

RUGBY LEAGUE NSW ALL SCHOOLS PRIMARY CARNIVAL – 7TH AUGUST 2019 ST MARY’S STADIUM SYDNEY 

N.S.W. Rugby League Championship and claimed the title of State Champions.  They defeated a much larger Nurrawa Public side from Canterbury, in the final of the N.S.W. All-Schools Carnival at St Mary’s Stadium on Wednesday 7th August.

PSSA STATE BOYS HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIPS – 4TH – 6TH JUNE 2019 LISMORE 

The NSWPSSA State boys hockey championships were held in Lismore from 4th to 6th June. Lismore Diocese had 5 boys representing Polding at these championships. They were Jimmy Bradford, Tobias Toohey, Chase Callaghan, Martin Smith and Vann O’Keefe.

A training run will be held on Thursday 27th April at 3pm at the various venues in Lithgow and Bathurst.
