LISMORE DIOCESAN PRIMARY RUGBY UNION TRIALS – 10TH MARCH 2023 SOUTH GRAFTON

The Lismore Diocesan Rugby Union trials were held on  Friday (10th March ) at Hay Street rugby fields in South Grafton. A very successful day this year saw a team representing each zone for the first time. Altogether there were 50 students in attendance at this year’s diocesan trials.

Many thanks to convener Ern Sandral, selectors Peter Tonkin and Jack Sheridan, team managers and development officers from Rugby NSW. All students participated well in the trials and showed their pleasing skills.

In the end, there were 19 students selected to represent Lismore Diocese at the Polding trials at Forbes (Monday 26TH June). The Lismore managers for 2023 are Ern Sandral (St Joseph’s, Woodburn) and Peter Tonkin  (St Mary’s, Grafton).

Congratulations to the following students who will attend the Polding rugby union selection trials at Forbes on Monday 28th June.

POLDING RUGBY UNION GIRLS 7’S TRIALS – 9TH AUGUST 2022 SANTA SABINA, SYDNEY

Congratulations to Molly Biddle (Mary Help of Christians, Sawtell) and Shannon Lee Lusung (St Agnes’, Port Macquarie) who were both selected in the Polding team to attend the NSWPSSA Championships in Girls Rugby 7’s on the 5th and 6th  September at Gateshead.

POLDING RUGBY UNION TRIALS – 27TH JUNE 2022 FORBES

The Polding rugby union selection trials were held at Forbes on Monday 27th June. Lismore Diocese had 19 students attend these trials. Lismore team managers reported that all Lismore Diocesan representatives played very good rugby union throughout the trials and they were a pleasure to work with at Forbes. Lismore had seven boys make the Possibles and Probables and five were selected for the Polding team. Congratulations to all 19 students from Lismore Diocese for your enthusiasm, talent, skill and effort at the trials.
 
The following five students were selected in the Polding team to attend the NSWPSSA State rugby union carnival at Mudgee on the 23rd -25th of August.

LISMORE DIOCESE PRIMARY RUGBY UNION GALA DAY – 10TH  JUNE  2022 AT  COFFS HARBOUR

A terrific day of rugby union was held at Coffs Harbour Stadium grounds. This year saw 10 teams from throughout the Lismore Diocese attend this event. There was some wonderful rugby played throughout the day. St Joseph’s, Kempsey won the final (7 to 0)  against Holy Family, Skennars Head in a very close game.

 

LISMORE DIOCESAN PRIMARY RUGBY UNION TRIALS – 6TH MAY 2022 SOUTH GRAFTON

The Lismore Diocesan Rugby Union trials were held last Friday( 6th May) at Hay Street rugby fields in South Grafton. A very successful day this year saw a team representing each zone for the first time. Altogether there were 55 students in attendance at this year’s diocesan trials.

Many thanks to convener Ern Sandral, selectors Peter Tonkin and Jack Sheridan, team managers and development officers, Gary Wilson and his team from Rugby NSW. All students participated well in the trials and showed their pleasing skills.

In the end, there were 19 students selected to represent Lismore Diocese at the Polding trials at Forbes (Monday 21st June). The Lismore managers for 2021 are Ern Sandral (St Joseph’s, Woodburn) and Jack Sheridan (St Carthage’s, Lismore).

POLDING RUGBY UNION TRIALS – 21ST JUNE 2021 FORBES

The Polding rugby union selection trials were held at Forbes on Monday 1st July. Lismore Diocese had 18 students (17 boys/1 girl)  attend these trials. Lismore team managers reported that all Lismore Diocesan representatives played very good rugby union throughout the trials and they were a pleasure to work with at Forbes. Lismore had six boys make the Possibles and Probables and all six were selected in the Polding team. Congratulations to all 18 students from Lismore Diocese for your enthusiasm, talent, skill and effort at the trials.
 
The following six students were selected in the Polding team to attend the NSWPSSA State rugby union carnival at Mudgee on the 17th -19th August.

A terrific day of rugby union was held at Coffs Harbour Stadium.  Eight teams from throughout the Lismore Diocese played some wonderful rugby throughout the day. Mary Help of Christians,   Sawtell won the final ( 12 to 7)  against Holy Family, Skennars Head in a very close game.

The Lismore Diocesan Rugby Union trials were held last Friday at South Grafton. A very successful day with this year seeing teams (55 students) representing each zone. LISMORE DIOCESAN PRIMARY RUGBY UNION TRIALS –13TH MARCH  2020 GRAFTON

Lismore Diocesan Rugby union selection trials were held at Grafton on Friday 13th March. Thank you to the convener, development officers, selectors, team managers. There was a large number of boys (55) attend this trial and they showed very good development in their skills in rugby. This made the selection process quite difficult. Well done to all boys from throughout the Lismore Diocese.

POLDING RUGBY UNION TRIALS – 1ST JULY 2019 FORBES

The Polding rugby union selection trials were held at Forbes on Monday 1st July. Lismore Diocese had 19 boys attend these trials. Lismore team managers reported that the boys played very good rugby union throughout the trials and they were a pleasure to work with at Forbes. Lismore had five boys make the possibles and probables. Congratulations to all 19 boys from Lismore Diocese for your enthusiasm, talent, skill and effort at the trials.
 
The following four students were selected in the Polding team to attend the NSWPSSA State rugby union carnival at Hawksbury on 26-29 August. Congratulations to Riley Flood (St Carthage’s, Lismore), Thomas Ainsworth (St Mary’s, Casino), Tavita Loughland (St Anthony’s, Kingscliff ) and Ethan McManemin (St Joseph’s, Tweed Heads). We wish them all the best at this event at the state carnival.

LISMORE DIOCESE PRIMARY RUGBY UNION GALA DAY – 28TH MAY 2019 COFFS HARBOUR STADIUM

A terrific day of rugby union was held at Coffs Harbour Stadium.  Eight teams from throughout the Lismore Diocese played some wonderful rugby throughout the day. St Carthage’s, Lismore won the final against St Augustine’s Coffs Harbour in a very close game, scoring in the last moments to snatch victory.  



Primary Catholic Rugby Union Knockout – 8 August 2018 Sydney

Congratulations to St Peter’s Primary School Port Macquarie for winning the Catholic State Rugby Union Knockout for 2018.  They defeated Assumption Bathurst 15 – 5 in the grand final.

POLDING RUGBY TRIALS – 2 JULY 2018 Forbes

Congratulations to Ethan Tombs (St Peter’s, Port Macquarie) and Flynn Jonsson (St Francis Xavier, Ballina) on their selection in the Polding rugby union team to contest the NSWPSSSA State carnival at Coffs Harbour 28-30 August.

Well done to all Lismore players who participated and played so well at the Polding selection trials and who represented Lismore Diocese so proudly.

Polding Selection Trials 2017 at Forbes

The Polding selection trials were held at Forbes on Monday 26th June. The Lismore squad of 20 boys are to be congratulated on their rugby skills and sportsmanship.

Team managers John Sheridan and Peter Slattery reported that the boys were a pleasure to look after at the trials.

Congratulations to Domanic Mason (St Joseph’s Primary, Woodburn) in gaining selection in the Polding team this year. Well done to all Lismore Diocesean students who participated at the trials this year in Forbes.
