Diocesan Water Polo Championships 2016

On Tuesday 25th October  a very successful Diocesan water polo championships were held at Alstonville and Ballina pools.

Congratulations to Madeline Illic from St Joseph's, Catholic College, Banora Point (who convened the Open Water Polo at Alstonville), to Pat Kennedy (pre event organisation), Madeline Loche and Jacob Hoey (from Xavier Catholic College Skennars Head ) who ran the 15's and under at Ballina.

Thank you to participating Colleges at both events, managers for looking after the students.

Well done to the students at both centres who showed skill and commitment. All appeared to really enjoy the day.

I was able to spend time at the water polo venues and a really good sense of fun and enjoyment from the students.

Congratulations to St John's College, Woodlawn who won both 15's ( boys/girls) and opens ( boys /girls) at the championships.

I watched the open finals and they were very close - Woodlawn defeated Xavier 4 to 1 (1 all for the majority until last couple of minutes) in boys and Woodlawn  defeated St Paul's, Kempsey  2 to 1 in the open girls.

Regards,
John Cocciola
